Today we did one of my favorite things..We were able to go the mountain and visit one of our communities and just hang out. All the trips are gone, there were just 6 of us and we just went to "be there". We arrived and it was just life on the mountain. No excitement, no craziness from a bunch of gringos present, just life.
Got to Melvin's and found he and his sister swimming in the river behind the house, found Mercedes and Marco's at home with their Abuela, found the other boys just playing, riding bikes, kids riding on empty two litter bottles down hills and ladies in the river doing laundry.
We visited several families to "check-in" we walked around and ended up at the community soccer field with about 15 kids playing and being together.
I love days like this..I love the peacefulness of their life, I love the quietness of their life, I love the simplicity. The needs still present? Oh yes!
But on days like this it is just about saying we are here..with you, among you, and we love you!

I already miss being in Honduras. I know it must have been a good day if you got to play with Melvin and all the other boys.
These are my favorite Honduras days too. Our time and love really are the most important things we can give. I miss those boys.

i love these days, it is so great to just hang out and love on the kids, i love to just watch them, and see what they do, the compassion they share for one another, and the way they really and trully care for there families. The days to just have there company and trully be apart of there everyday life are so memorable! I am so thankfull to experience this!!
