You probably remember me blogging last summer when I had all the kids of my family here, I love that my family and I share a common want to serve and make a difference in the world. We are all very different people..Believe me..And that's what makes our common-ness so un-common.
I firmly believe a family that serves together not only stays together but becomes stronger together.

1john 1 5:ff If we walk in the light as HE is in the light we have fellowship with one ANOTHER and the blood cleanses us"
There was a time when I thought "walking in the light" meant that I had all my boxes checked, that I was following the rules of my religious tradition, was in the "right" church and living "right".....Wow did I just admit that!! Yep!
But walking in the light as HE is in the light is not at all about those things..We want it to be about those things because it makes our job of being a Christian very easy...Check the boxes and I am right and I can judge if others are or are not!
But nothing about walking with The Christ is easy and the road he walked was not about checking boxes, it was a messy and winding road. It was about serving and sacrificing and in that, I believe, is what brings us together in fellowship. It is the only thing! If we try to be bound together by rules and checks we will always be divided....Because we cannot do that without pride and self motivation.
This walking is what cleanses...it is ALL him, not me, and all I do is look for the light stand in it, it is already there!
When we look to something bigger than ourselves then un-common things happen.
