And we are off! The first of our group arrived today, the Birmingham & Delaware groups arrived (well almost everyone....where is the world are Justin, Chris, Tyler and Joe?) ready to go so we did! After the group arrived and we collected all the luggage (well almost all of it, poor kathryn!!!!) we headed to a local Honduran rest. for an authentic lunch on one of Torch's big yellow buses.

We ate LOTS of great honduran food like Pupusas, frilolas, tostatoes and lots of other great stuff. David K, David B, Jr, Rick and Norman won the award for the most food ordered...I never thought they would eat it all BUT I was wrong, Yup, every bit was gone! Those men can eat!
After lunch we loaded back on the big yellow bus for the warehouse and picked up 40 boxes of food.

We delivered this food to a small community of 40 families tucked away in the city by the river. The community was extremely poor, of course, that seems silly to say doesn't it?

We had a few minutes to visit with the people and children and Saffiya quickly made new friends with the children that surrounded her. The entire community came together to pray and give thanks for God's gift. I am always amazed at how open the people are to us "intruders". We were welcomed openly and the gifts were received with much joy and thankfulness. It was a great way to start the trip and our first time Torcher's Rick , Lisa, Adam, Elise, Garrett, Daniel, and JoJayne jumped in with both feet and quickly got a taste for what this mission is all about, to show the love of God. To glorify Him who provides all by His grace. We ended our first day with our first devotional...I never tire of the singing!!! I can tell already this is going to be a great group!
Tommorow will prove to be a busy day as the rest of our group arrives and this group goes to work out in Santa Ana. Oh, about those who didn't make it here today? Well, let's say the fun has only begun for these 4 young men!!! More about that later!!! It was a GREAT DAY IN HONDURAS
