Politics of the day..1

So the DNC has been going on and I have watch bits and pieces. I haven't watched the whole thing because really I can't take a lot of what campaign politics brings. I really hate attack adds and speeches and to be really honest, I don't know why it has to go there. My opinion, state your stand on issues, let you political record speak for it's self, because lets face it just like your mom always said "actions speak louder than words" and be done with it. I will feel the same when the RNC rolls around in a week or so.
In the midst of this campaign and the "enlightenment" I feel I have had over the past several years, my mind has approached this election really different. At the same time as this election, I am reading a book "Jesus for President" by Shane Claiborne. He is the same author who wrote "Irresistible Revolution", which totally turned me upside down. So with where I am, and anyone who knows me or reads my blog know where that is...... with this election, it is about more and more becoming one with The Christ and owning a theology that follows through in a real way, when it comes to the world around me. It means expanding my "box" of what is a moral issue. It is about looking at issues in a more holistic manor. Jesus never attempted to change the Roman government, he didn't lobby to change law, he loved and served and stood out against the common politics of the day. The truth is, you cannot legislate good and moral behavior. But we can as Christians act in the way of The Christ in love. I am not going to go into any specific issues because I am not about debating the right and left side of issues. I am about acting as a Christian in all things the way Jesus did. I think being called out of this world may look different than I once thought.

So..... Go Blue, Go Red, no Go JESUS!

Because the truth is ANOTHER WORLD is possible, but it won't be because of who is living in the White House, and to believe otherwise...is to have our trust somewhere it shouldn't be!
