and back again.......

I am back in Honduras and it is good to be back. My travel day yesterday was miserable as I had the delight of sitting on the tarmax,on the plane, for 3 hours in Houston. Yeah, weather, glad I had a good book and I can sleep anywhere. So I got here at 6:30pm and the car rental place was closed...but sweet Freddy came back to meet my plane and get me in a car, Thanks Freddy!!!! Checked into my room and had dinner with one of my employees and then helped her in her gift shop cause it got really busy...it was fun..got back to my room and Yonni called...seems Mirna is ok, but not better..and he was letting me know of the problems.

I went to Miguel this am to check on Mirna and the other kids. It is funny how much like home that community feels to me. I know, not wisely, I am very comfortable there. But I do have my husband's voice ringing in my head which keeps me aware of the dangers....couldn't drive in because the road was being dug up. So I parked by the 1st puleria and began my walk. I pasted Julio's where the town drunk decided to join me on my walk...I didn't like that to much so quickly made my was to casa de Jonathon. He was happy to report that the new mayor had started a "Water for the Poor" project and San Miguel was getting water that was running to peoples houses.
"Our" boys had all worked to offset the cost of the service. They worked on the project in the community so that their families could have water. So from what I got with my amazing Spanish skills, it isn't free, so they worked to have it. It took them 6 days 6am to 11pm so that they could get it sooner and it wouldn't take so long. I proud of them...they are good boys.

We made our way to Casa de Mariano to see Mirna. Found her with a smile on her face and wearing the new clothes we bought her to come home from the hospital in...she really liked them :)
I was greeted with Melvin running down the mountain to meet me, I have to say I love that! He is just the sweetest thing.
The catheter was back in and it seems she has some blood in her urine. She had been back to the doctor yesterday and it seems there is an on going problem with her bladder. I am not surprised with how sick she was...remember she didn't urinate for 3 weeks! The gyn has ordered her to see a Urologist....and Mirna is scheduled to go back the Doctora Ochoa this coming Friday, I will go with her. Mirna had a prescription to be filled so Melvin, Jonathon and I headed out to the car. Ran into the rest of Jonathon's family...and had a brief visit..Mercedes is still sassy and Marcito growing so fast!
First order of business? get my boys something to eat. We went to the mall food court because they couldn't decide where to go..I gave them each 100 limps to go where they wanted while I went to the Bano. They came back to the table with food from the Ranchero grill. I was a bit surprised..pizza, burgers, fried chicken..and they come back with beans, rice, tortillas and beef. They explained they chose that because it was more food for the money and they could bring some home...always thinking these boys! We took a wrapped plate to the car and headed for the Farmacia for medicine for Mirna. At a red light a little boy came begging at the window and the boys were not sure what to do....I knew they were planning on bringing the food home but I just asked if we should give it to the little boy...they looked at each other and said yes and Melvin handed it out the window...small lessons along the way:) Got everything we needed AND some meds or Marcito and Mercedes for a rash they both have....Jonathon looking out for his family.
Next the mercidito. Groceries. I asked the boys if they had food and they both said just a little, and when they say little they mean little..maybe a handful of beans a bit of rice. They told me that because they had all been working last week on the water project they were not working for money so that meant no food...what a choice?
So we shopped for 3 homes. They were most excited about the produce department!!!!
We got a lot of stuff as I kept reminding the boys the road was broken and it ALL had to be carried in....but they are not going to let a little thing like a 1/2 mile walk up a mountain, through a river or two keep them from food for their families.
When we returned the road had been filled back in and they were happy boys, I was able to drive in through the river right to Jonathon's and then on to Melvin's through another river and over many trenches. But as the boys told me it was NO problem with my car. They showed me their water hook ups and I am so happy for them and by were they proud!

I brought Mirna her meds and told her I would be back to check on her Monday. Please continue to pray for her health. I am not sure what the ongoing problem is but please pray it is something that can me fixed and that this will be behind her finally..she has had a hard year and it just keeps going.

God has been so amazing and as I reminded the boys several times today THANKS TO GOD ONLY!!!! In less than 30 days God brought together 10,000+ dollars for Mirna's hospital expenses and I am in awe of His provision. I know he will continue to help us care for her and the rest of these sweet souls.
I told Mirna today that MANY people in the US were praying for her and wondering how she was..and wanting her to get well.....it is how God works, I think, how He intended to work in this world, through the hands of His people. I know he could by pass us all together and preform all His miracles, but he wants us to be a part of it all...to be part of Him in kingdom work...and what a blessing it is to be!
I think it is how we get to know Him, truly and deeply.

MOM! What an awesome day hu? Although, I can hear Dad grumbling in his head as you discussed driving to Melvin's place! Who gave Melvin that crazy haircut!? You tell Jonathan and Yonni "what happened to the five years?" Remember that is how long they told me it would take them to work for that water hook-up! Hahaha. I knew they could do it! Sorry to hear about Mirna, but the Dr. seems to be a good lady and I trust her. Hopefully the urologist is right there with Ochoa! Call me when you get a chance. Tell everyone I love them and that JC and I are thinking of them daily!
Love you!
