One of the things we do over and over in Honduras is visit the small Honduran town of Santa Lucia. It is quaint, charming and friendly. Cobblestone streets and Spanish tile roofs and the home of an ancient Catholic Church. I never tire of the visits, there is something about a place that has been a house of faith for 100's of years. You can feel the devotion and sense the prayers of 1000's of believers. There is something reassuring about that, no?
The pictures above of the sweet women who is "the Keeper" of the key so if you arrive in town and the church doors are shut, you find her and she will gladly let you in, everyone know who she is a where she is..it usually only takes mins for her to appear. The garments she is showing are the robes of most of the priest that have served in this place. The oldest (the one she is holding) is 300 years old.
