All Good Things.......

Last Forever!!!!!
It is hard to believe how very fast our time here has gone. The group has gone to Roatan for a little R & R, and it is a much needed time of rest and reflection. I am sure they are enjoying sun, fun and the beauty of God's creation.

The last day on the mountain is always a wonderfully sad day! It was a day that we all worked at the same place, our village of San Miguel. We returned to finish our work there and we were blessed with a beautiful day with no RAIN!
Image hosted by Photobucket.comDays in Honduras are never what you expect and being able to adjust is key to SANITY here. This day was one of those days. We ordered wood for two houses and it was not ready for us as we began our day. Image hosted by Photobucket.comThen we found out we would only get wood for one house and we would not have delivery until 1:00. Starting a house mid day is always risky from a time standpoint but we were confident that our crew would get the job done, and they did. They were able to build the house in about 4 hours, which is the fastest a "new" Torch house has ever been built. The women who received the house sat all day and watched as her new house went up and with tears thanked God for this gift. I love how the people here see ALL as provision from above, they are grateful for "our" work but are clear about where everything comes from...We built 7 homes!Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It is wonderful to know that the seed of God's love is being planted in the their hearts. I am convinced that it will last a life time!Image hosted by Photobucket.com

WE DID IT!! We stared a monster in the eye and conquered! We finished our concrete work! We had a small crew of guys that dug in one more day and got concrete in the drainage trenches and behind the church!!!

Our food delivery crew hit the trails again this morning and delivered food to the rest of the community! It is good to know EVERY family in the community has food in their houses tonight!

Shoes..Shoes and more shoes!!!
Image hosted by Photobucket.comThe church building turned into a show store!!! We allowed mothers to come in and choose 2 pairs of shoes each. Of course they could have used more but the need is always greater! 100's of pairs of shoes went out on the mountain and we thank all of you who sent shoes! Image hosted by Photobucket.comWe also went out and bought a BUNCH of new school shoes!!!! Children can not go to school without them and so many families just do not have the money.....So this goes way beyond covering a few toes! Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Some sweet moments captured with some of our "guys"......They're not so tough......Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com

The relationships formed here will have lasting impact on us all! Image hosted by Photobucket.comToday was a day of tears, smiles and sadness and joy. We enjoyed time simply playing and laughing with our new friends.Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com

We were all sad to know our time on San Miguel was over and we would have to leave sweet little faces behind. Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.comWe are confident that are work was a divine appointment with our Lord, that we were faithful in our following. Until next time!Image hosted by Photobucket.com
