It's time....

Melvin and me!

To say something about Melvin!! I have restrained myself for weeks now!!!
Have I told you I love this boy!!! For those of you who are maybe new to this blog you may not know who Melvin is..Melvin is a little boy who I "found" on a mountain over a year ago, his mother had recently died of cancer and he and his 5 siblings are making it on their own. It is really very amazing to see them "survive" and how committed they are to staying together and caring for each other..They inspire me!
The best way I can describe our meeting was.....We looked at each other and said "oh, there you are". To give credit to any one other than God would be a mistake because how I feel about this little brown skin, brown eyed boy can only be by the grace of God. For two people of different races to connected so easily and so naturally...God's love.
The really funny thing is that all the other kids in the community see it too..They tell me that I am Melvin's new mom, (although I tell Melvin I am their to help his mom who is now in heaven.) They don't look at what I do as favoring Melvin...They are truly happy he has someone looking out for him. They always say Melvin, Melvin Melvin..solo Melvin! But it is really ok with all of them..The truth is we look after all our boys on that mountain...God led us there and so we stay and serve..And it is truly a labor of the heart!
So Melvin and I continue in this relatonship God created and I do the best I can to help him..not make him reliant on me. I tell him all the things a mom does..go to school, brush your teeth, be kind, love God. I hope Melvin's mom is looking down from heaven with a smile on her face with the peace that someone loves her little boy!

I love him too. I don't know if I loved him instantly because you had talked to much about him, or if it was meant to be....but I did.
He is one of the family now. I worry about him, I think of him and just love him to death.
God definately brought you together, that is FOR SURE...Read what I wrote in my blog when I first started....it's all there.
