FIESTA!!!!!!

"This was the best day of my life" was the quote of the day...not by the ninos from the mountain but from Ry, JC Chris, Carly, Erin Eric and Jenny.

The last dia for the family was spent shopping for school uniform, school supplies, zapatos for the boys of San Miguel. Also they gave Jonathon a birthday party! It was a grande day for Jonathon and 9 of his friends.
The day started when Marta and the boys arrived..(I blogged about Marta) and were able to spend the dia con nosotros.

Pizza for everyone!!!

We started at Pizza Hut for lunch. The boys enjoyed pizza and cokes till they were about to pop! One thing we all noticed was how the ninos all wanted to bring cominda home to their familias. They began wrapping their left over pizza in napkins to put in their pockets...we could see that need brings a strong feeling of looking out for eachother...you would think the opposite, right? That they would look out for themselves and their own bellies but no they all had a very different spirit...what a wonderful thing for us to see!

After pizza they came back to the casa de mi esperanza for pastel y pinata!!! The cake was yummy and the pinata lots of fun! The ninos wanted all the gringas and JC to join in the fun so we all took our turn at the pinata! We are not very good at it but these ninos sure knew what they were doing!!! The was mucho confetti for all!!! Of course their were presents..Jonathon even got a new birthday outfit..that he has had on since friday!!!

The smooch!!!!

After the festivitites here at the casa it was off to the movies!! They went to see the new Herbie movie and have popcorn and more coke. So much for my preaching all summer that coke is malo for their teeth and agua is mejor. They all had a great time at the movie and running up an down the escalators at the mall.
It was a great last day for everyone!!!

I will say that JC and I thoroughly enjoyed that day the most, I believe than the rest. It was something we had never been able to do before in a large group. It was an amazing day that I am sure was enjoyed by ALL involved. We were excited that Marta could join us for some more time together. I know Carly was glad to see her.

JC and I enjoyed this trip immensely and we always leave Honduras affected in some way...but this year I believe we were affected greater than before.

What a great last day you all had! Everyone loves a party and what a way to end your time together.

So glad you had a wonderful family time together. Making memories. The kids will remember this time together and how they served together in Honduras for years to come.

Wonderful news, Sharon, that Erin has come back changed and really affected by the time she spent there. It's seems such a fantastic and life-changing experience for teens to participate in.

We are always thanking God for Mark and Lori's willing spirits to serve Him and the Honduran people the way they do. Aren't they great!!???

I haven't been able to respond before today. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with Ryan and Crystal ... It's been a tough week for me. I wake up everyday and just want to be back down there. Aunt Lori, and Uncle Mark, I'll never be able to thank you enough. The trip was amazing! As always, that place and those people affected me in such an incredible way. Friday was absolutely the best day of my life. I'd give anything to see Melvin trying to run up the down escalator again.

Marvin and the boys have called me a few times, and I find myself waiting by the phone each day hoping for another call. It's gotten out of hand :) ...

Crystal, Ryan, Erin, Eric, Jenny, and JC, I am so thankful for you all. God truly created magnificent people in all of you. I love you all very much.

Each night I pray for 'our boys' and the people of Honduras. Not only do I pray that their bellies are full, their houses are safe, and their smiles are big ... I pray that God will guide me to be more like those people. That I'll learn to trust in him the way they do. This year, Uncle Mark, you taught me so much about blessings. In a way, these people are so much more blessed than I am. They have so much of God. They trust him to provide for them ... and of course he always does. I have so much to learn from these people.

Aunt Lori, and Uncle Mark, I hope Roatan was amazing. You deserved it! I love you both with all my heart.

Carly

I have to say that the time spent with my kids, their spouses, and my nieces were definitely the greatest of the summer. Thanks to all of you for being willing to be here and provide so much hope to so many. I always love the time I get to spend with each of you, but being here in Honduras took it to a new level.

I will keep praying that god somehow find a way for us to do it again whenever possible.

Dad...Uncle Mark

I couldnt be more proud of all of you and how you allowed God to move in you while you were here. You all gave of yourselves so freely and I know how much you blessed those you came in contact with, I can see it everytime I am in San Miguel. I am proud of your open hearts and you willingness to hear God and LISTEN as he directs your lives. The time we had, here, together was such a blessing to me.
Not only do I love you all because you are my family but I like you and the women and men you are! See you soon!!!

Thanks so much for giving my "novio" a birthday party. Those pictures warmed my heart and also made me a little sad. How much I miss them all!
